Terms of Service — MediaHeat / Reader

Last updated: 13 October 2026. In force from 14 October 2026.

These Terms govern MediaHeat accounts and MediaHeat / Reader ("Reader"), a personal reader for public news feeds, including its paid Premium plan. Reader is run by Claudio Medeiros, a natural person resident in Brazil ("we", "us"). Write to support@mediaheat.news about these Terms, your account or a payment; for personal data, use privacy@mediaheat.news.

By creating an account you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. In these Terms, "you" means the account holder; "Free" and "Premium" are Reader's plans; and "content" means the headlines, articles, images and videos Reader shows you from other publishers.

The MediaHeat / AI editorial site and newsletter are free, need no account, and are not covered by these Terms.

1. Accounts

1.1. You must be 18 or older to create an account or subscribe to Premium.

1.2. Sign-in runs through Clerk, by email link or Google. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who controls it can sign in as you.

1.3. One account per person. Do not create extra accounts to get around plan limits.

2. Plans, prices and limits

2.1. The current prices and limits of each plan are on the Reader home page. You pay the price shown at checkout.

2.2. We may change prices and limits. A change to a paid plan applies from your next renewal, and we will email you before it does. If you do not agree, cancel before that renewal.

3. Payment

3.1. Stripe processes payments. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

3.2. Premium is charged when you subscribe and then renews automatically every month, on the same day, until you cancel.

3.3. If a renewal fails, your account returns to Free until the payment goes through. You can pay the open invoice through "See Premium" or update your card through "Manage subscription". If Stripe's retries run out, the subscription ends.

3.4. Your bank may add its own fees or taxes to an international purchase. We do not charge them.

4. Cancellation and refunds

4.1. You can cancel at any time through "Manage subscription" in Reader. Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and no further charges are made.

4.2. We do not refund payments, or the part of a period already started, except under 4.3, 4.4 and 9.3 or where the law requires it.

4.3. Consumers in Brazil: seven-day withdrawal. Under Article 49 of the Consumer Defence Code, you may withdraw from your first Premium payment within 7 days of making it. Email support@mediaheat.news from your account's address within that period. We will refund the full amount to the card you paid with, and your account returns to Free.

4.4. If you are charged incorrectly, write to us and we will correct it.

5. Returning to Free

When an account returns to Free, the Free limits apply.

6. Acceptable use

6.1. You agree not to:

  • use Reader in breach of the law or of third parties' rights;
  • add feeds you are not entitled to read, or try to reach content behind a paywall, login or other access control;
  • copy, scrape or redistribute Reader or its content in bulk, or resell access to it;
  • interfere with Reader's security or operation, probe its systems, or overload them;
  • get around plan limits, including by opening several accounts;
  • access Reader through scripts, bots or other automated means outside Reader itself, including to use full articles or AI summaries beyond your own reading.

6.2. Adult content. Reader does not support adult or sexually explicit content. We screen feeds for it, both in the suggestions we offer and in the feeds you add, and we may block or remove any feed we find carries it. No screening is perfect; if you come across such a feed, please tell us.

6.3. We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaches this section. Where possible, we will warn you first.

7. Third-party content

7.1. Content in Reader belongs to its publishers. We show it with attribution and a link to the original, for your personal reading. Reader fetches only public content and does not bypass paywalls or logins. We do not check content in advance and are not responsible for it, or for the sites its links lead to.

7.2. Full articles are fetched at your request, for your personal reading, and AI summaries are reading aids for your personal use. Do not republish them.

7.3. If you hold rights in content shown in Reader and want it removed, write to support@mediaheat.news with the address of the content and the basis for your request.

8. AI summaries

A language model writes AI summaries. They can contain mistakes or leave out context. Check the original before relying on one. Nothing in Reader is investment, legal or other professional advice.

9. Ending the agreement

9.1. You can delete your account at any time in your profile. Deleting it cancels any Premium subscription at once.

9.2. We may close an account that breaches section 6. No refund is due in that case.

9.3. We reserve the right to suspend or end Reader, or any of its features, at any time upon notice. If we end Reader or Premium during a paid period, we will refund the unused part of that period.

10. General terms

10.1. Liability. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits rights the law gives you as a consumer. To the extent the law allows, Reader is provided as is, and our total liability is limited to the price of one month of Premium.

10.2. Availability. Reader depends on third-party providers for hosting, sign-in, payment and article extraction. We do our best to keep it running, but we do not promise it will run without interruptions or errors, and it may be unavailable when one of those providers fails.

10.3. Changes. We may update these Terms. We will announce material changes on the site and by email to account holders before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel or delete your account.

10.4. Law. Brazilian law governs these Terms.

10.5. Versions. These Terms are published in Portuguese and English. If the versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
