Beta testers, there’s something new waiting for you in MediaHeat / Reader. In our second week of beta, we added two features worth coming back for: fetching full articles and saving stories to read later.

Already have beta access? Come back and try them. Haven’t joined yet? Sign up for the waitlist to receive an invitation.

You know those stories that arrive in a feed with an interesting headline and just a snippet of text? Now you can use the Full article control to fetch the publication’s content and keep reading inside Reader. One click to show the retrieved text; another to return to the feed summary.

Fetching depends on what the source allows us to access, and some publications may return only part of the article. The link to the original story remains available.

Found a good story at a bad time? Click the Read later bookmark. Reader keeps the story in your personal list, including its feed content, so you can return when you have time. The list now has a counter, too — to keep track of the reading you’re setting aside for that quiet moment that will surely arrive.

We also improved how you organize sources into folders, import OPML lists and read on your phone. The controls line up better, text fits the screen, and images appear in full, including comic strips.

Here’s the invitation: open Reader, read something, save something, and tell us how it went. Try fetching a story that caught your eye, then save another for later. If something gets in the way, we want to hear about it. If a feature is missing, we want to hear that too. Use the feedback button inside Reader to share your thoughts.
